Poor Satan...

When Constantine saw his vision of Christ before entering battle to consolidate his Roman Empire on October 28th, 312 AD, he was led to emblazon the letter "chi", or "X", onto the shields of his men, representing both the first letter of the name "Christ" and the Cross upon which He was crucified. His forces, outnumbered two to one, were victorious. Constantine entered Rome the next day and took the reigns of the city and the empire.

The Cross is the symbol of Christ for one very specific reason: it was the purpose of His presence on Earth. He taught many things; He healed many people; He demonstrated great good and raised an entire generation of disciples. But the true purpose of His journey to Earth in 4 BC was to lead a sinless life, be captured, and receive the punishment for OUR SINS by the scourging and beating and eventually the crucifying at the hands of the Romans

NOT the Romans.
Satan.

If there was "one biggest loser" in the Gospels, it is Satan. He believed himself in control throughout those last few days of the Passion Week - he had the Son of God in his grasp, and he was NOT going to let Him go! But instead of defeating God by imprisoning and punishing and eventually killing Jesus on the cross, he played his role in God's plan to perfection, and personally arranged the salvation of millions, perhaps billions of Believers throughout eternity.

That would have ticked him off!
