Quick football update!

Don't have any spectacular predictions for you this weekend - there are only six games on our FOLLOWING FOOTBALL radar, and all of them come up the same way the pros are looking at them...

AFC: Houston by 4 over Oakland (Vegas has it 3.5). Personally, I give Oakland's defense a better chance against Osweiler than Houston's against whomever the Raiders throw out there, but I'm looking for a 2-0 final score, one way or the other.

NFC: Seattle by 5 over Detroit (Vegas gives them 8). Think about the Lions' schedule. They came home to play Green Bay with a two day disadvantage (Packers played on a Sat, Lions were the MNF game), and now they have ANOTHER short week to fly cross country to play a healthy Seattle team? Too big a handicap to over come. Gut feeling is they get tired and Seattle pulls away late - take the points.

AFC: Pittsburgh by 9 over Miami (Vegas says 10). Without Tannehill, the Steelers can load the box against former Boise Bronco Jay Ajayi without fear of the passing game beating them. Pitts-big.

NFC: Green Bay by 5 over NYG (Vegas says 4 1/2). I just don't see the unbeatableness that some folks are seeing in the Giants - I believe it's wishful thinking, frankly. Rogers is too hot with too many receivers for this defense to close them down.

FCS: James Madison by 4 over Youngstown St (no Vegas numbers; Sagarin ratings suggest they win by six). If NDSU couldn't slow them down, I don't see Youngstown doing it, either. Title to JMU Saturday in Frisco, TX, wherever THAT is...

FBS: Alabama by 2 over Clemson (Vegas opened at seven). Seven's too much, although it could very easily become another 31-7 masterpiece victory by Saban. What our two-point spread is really saying is that there's a 60-40 chance of Roll Tide Monday night.

Good luck, y'all!
